I must be honest and admit that I have never considered myself to be technologically savvy. In fact, I dare say that any of my co-works would use that phrase to describe me – quite the opposite, I’m sure. Actually, my own kids have always referred to me as a “struggler” in the area of technology. The truth is, I’ve always been a little afraid of it. Afraid that if I clicked the wrong button the computer might just blow up; or worse yet, I would lose all my hard work. Of course, I can use Word, email back and forth with attachments, text friends and create a pretty impressive power point. All of these "techy things" turn out great if I’m wearing my glasses. lol! However, I was completely caught off guard when Covid-19 demanded that we go home and teach virtually. The word “virtual” intimidated me terribly. At that time, I had not actually heard of Zoom. ZOOM …… what in the world is Zoom?
So, I did what I always do when I need to teach myself something new. I went to www.youtube.com. I found a plethora of tutorials on You-tube about Zoom, and I spent countless hours watching and learning how to utilize the virtual platform. Also, I insisted that one of my daughters, the main one that always called me a "struggler", give me a Zoom lesson. Now, I am happy to say that I find it fun and convenient to use Zoom for teaching, training, or for a presentation. So, I would like to share links to some tutorials as well as an article that has links embedded as Zoom resources for you - any of you, that is, who can admit that you're somewhat of a “struggler”.
